Where did GT® come from?


Graston Technique® is an interdisciplinary treatment used by more than 10,000 clinicians worldwide—including chiropractors, physical and occupational therapists, hand therapists, and athletic trainers.
GT is utilized at some 930 outpatient facilities and industrial on-sites, by more than 165 professional and amateur sports organizations, and is part of the curriculum at 48 respected colleges and universities.


What is a treatment like? 


Graston Technique® like ART® works on the principle of breaking down the scar tissue or the “knot in the rope” metaphor.  The treatment can be uncomfortable as scar tissue is broken down. 
A normal, healthy response is petechia (bruising).   The more petechia there is the more significant scar tissue there is.
